Barcelona: A City of Dreams, Then and Now…
Hola everyone,
This month was filled with a few days in Barcelona buzzing with the same vibrant energy I experienced back in 1992, during the Olympic Games. The memories are vivid: the colorful M&Ms mascot, the electrifying performance of "Barcelona" by Montserrat Caballé and Freddie Mercury, the awe-inspiring Basketball Dream Team, and a teenager's head filled with dreams.
Like any big and vibrant city, Barcelona has undergone many transformations over the years which I have been lucky to witness. While the city faces modern environmental challenges, such as water stress, its spirit remains as always welcoming, warm, culturally rich and inspiring. This time, I found myself brainstorming with a different kind of "dream team" – the incredible minds at Domestic Data Streams, a company harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence for good. (if you attended our E.I panel during Change Now, you will remember Martina Nadal, a partner of this game changing entity)
This trip ignited a powerful reflection. Back then, the focus was on witnessing athletic excellence; today, the focus is on environmental intelligence. It's a reminder that progress requires introspection. The ability to reflect on the past helps us chart a course for the future.
Speaking of the future, the upcoming Olympics in Paris adds another layer to this journey. And just this month, I had the privilege of discussing the importance of agency and about the Environmental Intelligence principles in a changing world at UNESCO's Future Literacy program in the Netherlands.
Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks! We're ‘cooking’ something special here with a dream team that has roots in the four corners of our beautiful planet, something truly "Olympic worthy" that combines environmental intelligence with the power of AI. It's an exciting time to be dreaming big – not just for myself, but for the future of our planet. You in?
With gratitude,
Nora and the WHo CAREs!? Chronicles (dream) team
